CCS for waste incineration in Norway
In connection with the preparation of this manual, KAN has been in contact with most of the waste incineration plants in Norway. The goal has been to get an overview of how far the industry has come in terms of establishing CO2 management solutions. The results of the mapping show that most of the plants are working on projects related to CCS
1 million tons CO2 equivalents
According to the report "Green transition - climate measures - analysis for petroleum, industry and energy supply" published by the Norwegian Environment Agency in 2022, emissions from waste incineration in Norway were around 1 million CO2 equivalents in 2021. To reduce these emissions, CCS solutions will be required.
Karbonfangstanlegget til Celsio tok ny investeringsbeslutning!
29. januar 2025 besluttet Hafslund Celsio å gjenoppta karbonfangstprosjektet på Klemetsrud. Karbonfangstanlegget skal være i drift innen tredje kvartal 2029 og fange 350.000 tonn CO2 fra atmosfæren årlig hvor om lag 50 % innebærer permanent karbonfjerning fra atmosfæren og 50 % er redusert utslipp av fossilt CO2.
